Really beautiful prints and really well styled. Lush!

EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS BOOK

We think everyone should read this book by Paul Kingsnorth, about the decline of orchards, unique highstreets, independant shops and pubs and the interesting parts of English culture generally. It is thought provoking but also provides examples of what we as individuals can do, and all the relevant contacts to make a start - which is so important - there is no point in complaining about something if you are not actively trying to make a difference at the same time.
Obviously crafts people are affected by the same sort of issues as all these things - people living their lives too fast to care about and be willing to pay more for something that is made with love, time and skill. Although, happily, craft seems to be making a comeback, some of the examples in the book are disappearing, possibly for good.

Backyard Market August

We held our last stall in August on another scorching day, just thought we'd put a few pics up to show you how it looked. Do you like our new hand sewn sign? The lovely blonde is our friend Amy Hostler, who bought along some of her fine butterfly necklaces to sell. It was great to see her. Oh and the crochet flower accessories are by Eloise Freeth, we love them and they were very popular. HURRAY FOR HANDMADE!

Thats us, right in the entrance!

New ideas!

We've been a little lazy for the last few weeks, after a great day at the Backyard market we have been busy enjoying the last of summer, including a lovely weekend at the very hot and sunny Bestival.

Anyway the creative juices are flowing again and we had a big brainstorming session last night, planning all sorts of lovely christmas and wintery goodies for you. There was some frantic cutting out, there were Pantones, there was mess.... our new winter collection is being born! We think we've created possibly the most eco friendly christmas decorations that you can get...if you want to know what they are then WATCH THIS SPACE!!!!!

Twentythree and friends at Brick Lane this Sunday!

We are very excited to have another stall at the excellent Brick Lane Backyard Market this Sunday, and even more excited to have some friends joining us with their equally excellent wares. We have a stall right at the front so look out for us as you walk in!

Coming all the way from Devon we have some beautiful hand crocheted bags and accessories by Eloise Freeth, and some unique customised lampshades by Natalie Soutter, a fashion designer based in London.

Be there or be square!

twentythree at Eco Age

We're pleased to be stocked in this lovely shop, Eco Age in Chiswick, London. They are unique in their concept of being an eco 'hub', where you can buy all sorts of eco friendly gifts, fashion, and gadgets as well as materials to decorate your home, in one place.

We love what they are doing and recommend a visit, here are some pictures of our cards and bunting in pride of place.
